This page is designed to help answer all your questions regarding booking your cake and the design process which follows. I want to make the process as relaxing as possible. Weddings are stressful enough, so I want you to feel confident leaving the cake in my hands.
Please be aware that I only offer fondant (sugarpaste) covered wedding cakes due to their superior stability. Naked and buttercream cakes are much more prone to having issues, whether that be bulging or collapsing due to heat or going dry due to not being fully coated.
Once you've confirmed your wedding date and booked a venue I’d love to hear from you. I first recommend that you send me details of your date and venue. I can't wait to discuss your plans and ideas for your wedding, but it's important I check my availability to avoid disappointment! Dates fill up faster than you might think, so I recommend booking your cake at least 10 months in advance. You can secure your wedding cake with a £100 booking fee today (non-refundable). Please note, between the months of May to September a £400 minimum order value is required.
If you've not tried our cakes before and would like to taste just how delicious they are before booking, then keep an eye out for our taster boxes. These are available just a few times a year, but they’re a great way to sample our cakes as they contain six of our cake flavours. Taster boxes are included in the price of your cake, so if you’ve ordered a box and decide to go ahead with booking then the price of the box will be deducted from your final invoice.
Around six months before your wedding date I’ll be in touch to arrange a design consultation. The appointments usually take around 1 hour and we'll discuss all your design ideas.
By this point you'll be well into your wedding planning so I recommend that you bring along any colour swatches you have that you want the cake to match, any invitation samples or even just some pictures of cakes you like the look of. It's important to remember that whilst I use images to get a feel for what you're looking for, each cake is individual and I will never replicate another designer's cake. I can advise on sizes for your cake and I will use your ideas to draw up a rough sketch during your appointment (in person only, if requested). After the appointment, I’ll take time to draw up a detailed sketch and send this across to yourselves for approval, before moving forward.
This is the part that any foodie loves! As part of all wedding cake orders there is a taster box included in the price. We only send these out a few times a year and they’re available to anyone to purchase. If you’ve purchased a box prior to booking then this will be taken off the final price of your cake. I know it's awkward watching someone else eat and you'll probably want to take time to discuss what flavours you like the most, and perhaps even get other family/friends involved with the tasting (although who really shares cake!?). These boxes are therefore perfect for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home with a cuppa and will be posted out to you when availability comes round. The box will also include a menu card with all of my available flavours for you to choose from.
Once all details are finalised, your payment is due 1 month prior to your wedding date, allowing you to relax in the final weeks leading up to your big day, knowing that your cake is in hand.
I will deliver and set up your cake at your venue, and make sure that everything is perfect. I deliver to venues across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire within an approx 30 mile radius of Matlock, DE4, if you are just outside of this radius please let me know as we may still be able to deliver to your venue. To do this there is a delivery charge to cover our time and mileage (£20p/h + 45p per mile). All you need to worry about is digging into a slice at your reception!

Prices vary depending on size and I work with you to create a cake that meets the portion requirements you need, as well as flavour, style and design. Typically a cake has a 2" difference between each tier, but why follow the norm, I design cakes in a range of shapes and sizes to meet your portion requirements.
The portions given above are based on a 1"x1" serving, which is designed as a finger portion.
However, if you wish to use your cake as the main desert, you may wish to cut your cake into 1"x2" servings. In this case, the portions given above should be reduced by approximately one third.
